Flight of the bumblebee

My guitar has developed fret buzz. It is severely annoying. I assume that either I have already killed the guitar somehow, or, more likely, that my strings have broken in and are vibrating more, and therefore whacking the frets at midpoint. I'll probably just suffer through till I feel like restringing, which will solve the problem temporarily. A heavier gauge string would probably really solve the problem... I'll think about it.

  1. A number of things are possible here. One is that the nut has worn down a bit. This is always possible with old guitars if the nut has never been replaced (likely, right?). On the other hand, with the advent of the indoor dry season, guitar necks have a tendency to move all around on you. I hate to send you back to the shop while you're waiting for a mandolin, but that might be where it needs to go. I can give it an in-person look when you have a chance.

  2. Ah jesus. Time to get the humidifier out. On that note, I'm gonna go fill up the wells on the radiators.
